Humans have a complex and intimate relationship with their objects. They accompany us as we go about our daily life tasks and even invade our dreams, but what do they do I wonder when we are not watching them? Anita Johnson rescues these objects once discarded and re-associates them with the human body in unexpected poetic ways with gestures of repair and mending. Ladders grow feet, chairs become co-joined twins, violins sow seeds in fields, and tennis racquets are comforted with upholstery.
